Join Mekong NYC as Our New Executive Director!

Dear Mekong NYC Community,

Exciting news! Mekong NYC is embarking on a new chapter of growth and impact. We are thrilled to announce that we are actively seeking a dedicated and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization into the future.

Our mission at Mekong NYC is to bring dignity and value to the lives of Southeast Asians in the Bronx and throughout New York City. We do this through community organizing and movement-building, centering healing through arts and culture, and creating a strong safety net rooted in community power. Mekong NYC is committed to uplifting the voices of those in our community who are most impacted and marginalized, in order to build a multiracial social justice movement. We have a rich history of empowering our community, advocating for positive change, and amplifying the voices of those who need it most. Now, we're looking for a dynamic leader who can help us continue this vital work.

As our Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Shape Our Vision: Lead our organization in setting strategic goals and defining our path forward.

  • Drive Change: Advocate for social justice causes that matter most to the Bronx and beyond.

  • Lead a Team: Work alongside our talented and passionate team of individuals.

  • Expand Our Reach: Build partnerships and collaborations to maximize our impact.

Are you or someone you know the right fit for this role? We encourage all qualified individuals who share our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusivity to apply. Together, we can make a difference that extends far beyond the borough of the Bronx.

To apply, send your resume and cover letter to jobs@mekongnyc.org. Feel free to share this opportunity with your network, as we believe in the power of community connections to bring the right person to our team.

Join us in our mission to create positive change and build a brighter future for our community. Your support and involvement are essential to our continued success.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to reach out to mekong@mekongnyc.org.

Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to the values that drive Mekong NYC. We can't wait to welcome our new Executive Director and continue our work together.

Celebrating 10 Years of Chhaya Chhoum!

Mekong NYC celebrated ten years of Chhaya Chhoum's leadership, at New Mulan Restaurant with music by DJ Ness.

As we gathered to honor Chhaya's incredible journey and immense contributions, our hearts swelled with pride seeing her ascend to new heights as the Executive Director of the Southeast Asian Freedom Network (SEAFN).

It was a night filled with gratitude and nostalgia as speeches from our youth fellows, staff, and board echoed the sentiment of countless lives touched by Chhaya's indomitable spirit. We shared laughter, memories, and tears, reminiscing about the moments we stood together, fighting for justice, equity, and dignity.

SEAFN now gains an extraordinary leader, armed with the empathy, resilience, and love that have always defined Chhaya's work. We are immensely proud to witness her stepping into this new role, knowing that she will continue to champion the rights of our community and amplify our voices on a broader stage.

To Chhaya, we are glad to be your movement home, as your impact will resonate in our hearts and actions. Mekong NYC stands tall today because of your unwavering belief in our collective power, and we pledge to carry your torch forward, guided by the invaluable lessons you've imparted.

Thank you, for your unwavering dedication and boundless love. Our farewell party was a testament to the profound impact you've made, and we eagerly await the incredible things you will achieve in the next chapter of your journey.

Thank you to our attendees.
