Mekong NYC Celebrates Grand Opening
of New Office on September 26th

On September 26th, Mekong NYC celebrated the Grand Opening of our new building at 84 W. 197th Street in the Bronx!

Since our founding in 2012, we have been rooted in the Bronx, serving and organizing the Southeast Asian community from a small basement office. With this new 1,500-square-foot building, we now have the space to reach more community members, expand our services, provide greater privacy for case work, and host more community and cultural celebrations.

Our Grand Opening was filled with joy, reflection, and gratitude. We were honored to welcome community members, partners, and elected officials, including NYC Council Member Pierina Sanchez and NYS Senator Robert Jackson, who shared powerful remarks about the significance of this moment.

This building is more than just a physical space — it is a sanctuary where our community can heal, celebrate culture, and build power together.

We thank everyone who joined us for this celebration and all of our supporters who made this vision a reality.

Mekong NYC’s new permanent home is made possible thanks to support and funding from New York State Senator Robert Jackson and the New York State Community Resiliency, Economic Sustainability, and Technology (CREST) Program with funds administered by The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY); New York City City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams with funds through the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC); the Empire State Development’s Not for Profit Capital Grant Program; the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund; and the Hyde and Watson Foundation.
